Booking & Eligibility
Get started with the basics of renting from us.
How do I book a self-drive car with GoiCar?
Booking is simple! Visit our website GoiCar.in. Enter your travel dates and location in the search form, and select your preferred car.
You can call us at +91-9860-122-226 for assistance. We recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred vehicle.
What is the age requirement to rent a car?
To rent a car with us, you must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driving license with a minimum of 2 years of driving experience.
What documents do I need to provide?
You will need to provide:
1. A valid Driving License (Original required for verification at pickup). Note: We accept DigiLocker documents.
2. A valid Government ID (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, or Passport).
For Foreign Nationals:
1. A valid Passport and International Driving Permit (IDP).
We do not keep your original documents; we only verify them at the time of delivery.
Can I book a car for just 1 day?
Yes, our minimum rental period is 24 hours (1 day).
Can I add a co-driver to my booking?
Yes! You can add a co-driver. They must also submit a valid driving license before the rental starts. Please note that the primary hirer remains solely responsible for the vehicle and any liabilities.
What is the fuel policy of GoiCar vehicles?
We follow gauge to gauge aka point to point fuel system, that is you need to return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel as received. There will be a charge of Rs.900/- per point of less fuel with an addition of Rs.200/- as refueling charge.
Is there any hostels/places not serviceable by GoiCar?
We do not provide pick/drop service to anywhere else other than the once mentioned in our Search Here form.
Is there any charges for late return of the vehicle?
Yes, please check our TOS for details.
Pricing, Payments & Security Deposit

How is the rental price calculated?
Our prices vary by car type and season:
Economy (Hatchbacks): ₹1,000 – ₹1,800/day.
Intermediate (Sedans/SUVs): ₹1,600 – ₹2,400/day.
Luxury/Premium: ₹2,500 – ₹5,000/day.
Tip: Long-term rental like weekly and monthly rentals often come with better rates. Our billing cycle is on calendar day basis
Is there a Security Deposit?
Yes, a refundable security deposit of ₹5,000 is collected at the time of pickup. In case of out station rental a deposit of ₹10,000 is collected at the time of pickup.
Refund Policy: The deposit is refunded to your bank account within 5 to 7 working days after the car is returned, subject to a final check of the vehicle condition and fuel level.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept UPI, Google Pay, Net Banking, Credit/Debit Cards, and Mobile Wallets.
Note: We strongly advise against cash payments for security and transparency.
Are fuel charges included in the rent?
No, fuel is not included. We follow a "Gauge-to-Gauge" policy: You will receive the car with a specific fuel level. You must return it with the same level.
Charges: If returned with less fuel, a charge of ₹900 per point + ₹200 refueling fee applies.
Vehicle Policy & Usage

Are your cars legal for self-drive?
Absolutely. All our vehicles have Black Number Plates with Yellow Lettering (Commercial Registration) and valid Rent-a-Cab permits. You can drive legally in Goa without fear of police fines for driving a private vehicle.
Is there a limit on kilometers (KM capping)?
No! We offer Unlimited Kilometers for all daily rentals within the state of Goa.
Exception:
Monthly subscription vehicles have a cap of 3,000 km/month.
Out station vehicles have a cap of 150 km/day.
Can I drive the car outside Goa?
No, our vehicles are strictly permitted for use within the state of Goa only. Taking the vehicle across state borders without valid permit is not allowed and may attract a fine of upto ₹10,000. For taking vehicle outside Goa, you need to opt for Out Station Rental.
What is the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)?
CDW is an optional protection plan that covers major accidental damages.
What it covers: Accidental damage to the vehicle body.
What it does NOT cover: Tyre damage, Side-view mirror damage, Damage caused by negligence (e.g., drunk driving, overspeeding, improper handling) and Damage to vehicle interiors, accessories, or any item that is not a part of the vehicle.
Can I carry pets or smoke in the car?
No. To maintain hygiene for all our guests, pets and smoking are strictly prohibited. Off-roading and driving on beaches are also illegal and banned. Violations will attract heavy cleaning fines and legal penalties.

Where can I pick up my car?
We serve major locations across North Goa:
Manohar International Airport (Mopa): We are the official airport partner with a dedicated counter (Counter No. 7) for seamless pickup.
Dabolim Airport: Service available (approx. 250 meter away from the airport exit gate).
Nagzar & Colvale: Hub pickups available. Mapusa: Custom delivery on request, subject to availability.
Note: We operate only at locations listed in our search form to comply with local Taxi Union rules.
Do I need to print my booking receipt?
No, you do not need a printout. Showing the confirmation message via WhatsApp or Email on your phone is sufficient.
Can I change my drop-off location later?
Yes, you can. Although, we recommend not changing your drop-off location after booking, as it disrupts our logistics and may incur significant additional charges.

What happens if I meet with an accident?
Check for injuries and ensure safety.

Register a police complaint (FIR) and submit a copy to our head office.
Note: If you have not opted for CDW, you are liable for damages and downtime charges.
Who pays for traffic fines or challans?
The hirer/renter is solely responsible for any traffic fines, parking fees, or tolls incurred during the rental period. If a challan is generated later (e.g., speed camera), we will intimate you and deduct the amount from your security deposit along with an admin fee. The fee may vary depending how the challan was paid (online/offline)
What are the charges for late return?
Please return the car on time to avoid penalties. Late returns attract additional charges as per our Terms of Service (TOS), which may include a full day's rental fee for significant delays.
